Late Score Costs Herons

Saturday's game against Central Maine Community College was a heartbreaker for The Herons, as they lost the lead late in a 7-1 defeat. The game was tied at one with CMCC batting in the top of the sixth when an error scored one run.

 Great Bay struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing The Mustangs, giving up seven runs.

 In the top of the fourth inning, CMCC tied things up at one when Hoogterp hit a solo homer.

Central Maine scored four runs in the seventh inning. The big inning was driven by an error on a ball put in play by Cody Dolloff and Cobara, a single by St. Pierre, and a fielder's choice by Tremble.

 St. Pierre led things off on the hill for CMCC. He lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out seven.

 Trevor Salema led things off on the hill for Great Bay. He lasted six and a third innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out three and walking one. Jose Soto threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen.

 The Herons had five hits in the game, Soto and LaRochelle each managed two hits to lead.

Hoogterp led Central Maine with three hits in four at bats.
