Not one, but two road trip wins for the Lady Heron’s Basketball Team over the weekend

The Lady Herons hit the road and improved to 2-1 overall, and 1-1 conference.

Hampshire College

The road trip started with a win at Hampshire College on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Robert Crown Center.

The Herons got off to a slow start against Hampshire College trailing at the end of the first quarter 13-12.

The Herons changed things up defensively and held Hampshire to only four points in the second quarter, leading 23-17 going into the half. The Herons didn't look back and led the game all the way into the final score. With their first away game win of the season 48-24.

The Herons were led by Madison Lovely with 20 points and 12 rebounds, followed by point guard Kaitlyn Becksted with 8 points and 2 assists.

Paul Smith College

The Herons started a man to man full court defense, but that was after Freshman Kaitlyn Becksted scored their first two points of the game with an easy layup right off the tip.

The Herons continued their lead throughout the game with Sophomore Madison Lovely career high 34 points, followed by point guard Kaitlyn Becksted also putting in a career high 18 points against the Bobcats.

This couldn't have been possible without the solid defensive efforts of Leah Hopkins, Tatyana Sullivan, Lauren Michaud, Emma Desmarais, and Gianna Portelli who led the team in steals.

Final Score 60-32
