Herons Baseball splits weekend games with NHTI

Herons hosted the Lynx from NHTI this Saturday afternoon at Leary Field.  The Herons got off to a slow start in the first game, falling behind early.  They just couldn't get their bats going, eventually falling 0-11. The Lynx found success with a balanced attack, with Richie Thibealult, Josh MacDonald, James Jones, Jr. and Isaac Swisher with 2 RBIs each.  Isaiah Guttierrez picked up the win pitching the entire first game.   Matt Tuttle, Trevor Hovey and Nolan Perkins shared work on the mound for the Herons.

The Herons finally got their offense going in the 2nd game and Alex Noel dominated the Lynx from the mount striking out 16, throwing 80 strikes in only 106 pitches.  The Herons found offense from almost everyone on the team with Adam Stewart, Alex Noel, Jackson Strayer, Nolan Perkins, Meridius Pendell all getting a hit and Trevor Hovey, Matt Tuttle and Danel Cavarretta helping out by getting on base on balls.  The Herons led 6-2 going in the the top of the 6th inning when the Lynx found a way to score 3 runs narrowing the lead to 1.  The Herons managed to get 3 on base but left them stranded, so the remained 6-5 heading into teh 7th inning.  

Alex Noel came up huge agains stricking out 2 batters and getting a third to fly out.
