Herons Volleyball splits weekend in South Portland

The Lady Herons traveled to Southern Maine Community College for a double header on Sunday, September 19th. The first match was a hard fought game against Paul Smith college. However, the Herons lost 0-3. 

 

The second game against Southern Maine Community College started off at a much higher tempo. The Lady Herons took the first set 25-13. The second set was 25-21 and the last set closed at 25-22. Great Bay stepped up and brought energy to the court. Kayleigh MacDougall had a total 17 kills and 3 aces. Shannon Armstrong led the team with aces, scoring 6 aces between the three sets. Cassidy Gibb had a total of 31 assists between the the three sets against SMCC. Hailey Nesbitt displayed discipline leading the team in serve receive and digs. The Herons finished their day strong and hope to keep this momentum rolling the rest of the season. Significant improvements by each player are making continuous improvements and contributions! 

 

The Lady Herons are back in action on Thursday, September 23rd at home against in-state rival NHTI.
